Breast Imaging Matters Outreach is a Tulsa-based breast health initiative dedicated to advancing early breast cancer risk identification, education, and equitable access to screening resources. Founded by a frontline breast imaging technologist, the initiative works to close gaps in risk awareness and ensure women understand when earlier or enhanced screening may be appropriate.
Through structured community outreach, guided risk awareness tools, and strategic healthcare partnerships, we empower women with personalized knowledge and connect underinsured populations to trusted screening resources.
Advancing Early Breast Cancer Risk Awareness in Tulsa and Surrounding Communities
Why This Work Matters
Too many women are unaware they may qualify for earlier breast cancer screening or genetic evaluation. Many assume that without a strong family history their risk is low — yet research shows most breast cancers occur in women with no known family history.
Breast Imaging Matters Outreach was established to address critical gaps in risk awareness, breast density education, and access to appropriate screening pathways. As breast imaging professionals working directly with patients, we recognized the need for structured, community-based education that empowers women with personalized risk knowledge before a diagnosis occurs.
Through evidence-informed outreach, guided risk awareness tools, and strategic partnerships, we are working to reduce barriers to early detection and improve informed screening decisions within Oklahoma communities.
Meet the Founder
Ashley Flurry, RT(R)(M), is the Founder and Executive Director of Breast Imaging Matters Outreach. With extensive clinical experience in breast imaging and direct patient care, Ashley recognized critical gaps in public understanding of breast cancer risk, breast density, and eligibility for earlier screening and genetic evaluation.
Drawing from frontline experience, she established Breast Imaging Matters Outreach to deliver structured, evidence-informed breast health education directly into the community. Under her leadership, the organization is building partnerships, expanding outreach programming, and developing initiatives designed to reduce barriers to early detection across Oklahoma.
Ashley is committed to empowering women with personalized risk knowledge and strengthening informed conversations between patients and their healthcare providers.
